  1. After capturing NTSC VCD video, converting from avi to mpeg 1 through tmpg, and making a cue file through VCDEasy, I tried to make a vcd through CDRWin. I noticed that instead of 11 minutes, it said 12:38 minutes. I tried burning and tried it on my DVD player. Instead of saying it was VCD 2.0, it said it was VCD 1.1 and it didn't work. What was my problem?

  2. I also looked at the disk on my computer. It said that 170 mb was used, but there was nothing there. In a cd I made earlier with vcd clips I downloaded off the internet, there were folders and stuff and I was able to run the dat files in windows media player.

  3. Here's a sample mpeg I made. Its a clip from CNN. If someone could download it and tell me what's wrong with it or if you have the same problem with it as I do if you try to make a cue file, that would help me out greatly.

(almost 1 mb, 5 seconds long)

  4. Ok, I looked at your MPEG and it looks ok to me. 352x240, MPEG1, video=1150kbit/s and audio=224kbit/s. When you try to create a bin/cue file in VCDEasy you did select VCD 2.0 and not 1.1 right?

Also your file seems to be called xxx.mpeg, rename it to xxx.mpg. I doubt this is the problem, but...

Also are you using a cracked verison of CDRWin? If so keep in mind that CDRWin is known to burn coasters if you crack it. I would try burning w/ CDRDAO (you can do this from w/in VCDEasy. Make sure you've d/loaded the newest ver 1.0.5 from http://www.doom9.org ).

I was able to burn the MPEG and play it no problem (it is padded thou) so that explains the 11min vs. 12:38. You can fix this by de-muxing w/ TMPGenc, then remux w/ bbMPEG and disable padding (should be default for VCD).

  5. Thanks! Everything works great. I must admit that I was using a cracked version of CDRWin. I was tired of recording at 1x speed. The reason why I was using CDRWin in the first place was because I couldn't get VCDEasy 1.04 to make the CD. There was something wrong with "generic-mmc" or something, even after I forced the driver. After updating to 1.05 this morning, I noticed the problem was gone. Thanks again.
