I recently purchased a Hitachi DV-415u. I am encoding with TMPGenc and followed the directions in the DVD RIP section. Whenever I try to play an SVCD, encoded using the NTSC standard Svcd template, the video is terribly jittery. I tried encoding again, with no success. I have tried burning at a slower speed, no success there either.

VCD, SEVCD, SXVCD all work well, just SVCD itself is the problem.

Is there something I am missing, or any special procedures that I am not aware of ?

Anybody else out there have this problem ?

I purchased this one instead of the pioneer 343 because I wanted the MP3 feature, but if I can't get SVCD to work properly, I will have to go exchange it. Oh well.

Does anybody have any short test clips encoded in 480x480 svcd ntsc standard ? At least then I could be sure it's the player and not my encoding.

If anybody has any insight into this problem, or questions, comments, etc.. I would be glad to hear them..

    thanks in advance
