  1. I'm trying to make something useful with the WMV capture settings.

    I'd really like to make 'NTSCFilm type' captures with WMV

    I dug into the registry and saw that I could manually change the height and width to 352x240

    from my registry
    -----
    "Name"="WMV Test 1"
    "Desc"="WMV Hack Attempt"
    "RtInterval"="200000"
    "Width"=dword:00000160
    "Height"=dword:000000f0
    "Standards"=dword:00000a03
    "Video Format"="{59565955-0000-0010-8000-00AA00389B71}"
    "Sample Frequency"=dword:0000ac44
    "Bits Per Sample"=dword:00000010
    "Channels"=dword:00000002
    ----

    the width of 160 hex = 352
    the height of f0 hex = 240
    (you can also just enter the above in decimal)

    but it seems to ignore these values (arrgh!) and default to 640x480

    I also want to figure out how to hack the bitrate and change the FPS to 23.976

    Anyone else want to "trial and error" this with me and see if we can't get a nice custom result from WMV

    if we are successful I can just add them to my MMC Reg Tool - I think capturing WMV to 352x480 would be nice for stuff I don't plan to burn ... but those options just don't seem to exist ....

    WMV is crappy encoding.

  4. stinky - I do pretty much just mpeg2. But why don't you check out a reg hack for file size in mpeg2 captures. I hack the registry manually now to segment my captures to 850 megs so I can overburn. Its easy and works like a charm but having it your registry hack would be even easier.

  5. Next: I can easily add that (and still keep it 7.1/7.2 compatible. Do you already know which keys they are - what range you think should be set up? I guess I could use buttons for 850 cd-r and 750 cdr and one for cdr-w (which I forget the size limit)

    anything eles you think I should add? respond here or email me.

    I still wish I could get WMV to do 352x240 but it seem like a lost cause
