  2. Sure is, check the guides.

There are 2 ways to do it.

1: The best way is to reencode the audio to 48 khz
2: The simple fast method is to change the header info so your authoring software will accept it, then change it back again.

  3. Yes its possible, but I haven't done it before so I cant tell you how. Try SVCD2DVD.

Quick Edit:Barnabas you beat me,we must have posted at the same time but you were a fraction of a second ahead of me

  4. The problem with SVCD is the horizontal resolution(480),it's not in the DVD specs and some DVD players may not play it back. For best compatibility I would convert it to 352x480(NTSC)/48kHz audio then make menus and author using TDA or Ulead VideoStudio.
I have tried the header trick but the picture was distorted.

You might need this sticky as well.

  6. If your player plays SVCD's, you can try authoring them directly to DVD.

thanks... i was thinking of using VCDGear to extract the mpg from the svcd and then burn them... Because my DVD player supports Mpg files.. Would that be easier than spending countless hours re-encoding them?

Do a test first on a DVDRW,most players don't support raw MPEG on DVD...you might have to convert the audio to 48kHz.

The simplest way i found was demux the mpg to m2v and mp2 with tmpgenc and patch the m2v with dvdpatcher to 352 header and import the files into tmpgenc dvdauthor, ignore the gop error message and when it accepts the files patch back to 480.

Do this to all 3 mpgs and you will be set.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.
