Hi, I was using this guide http://web.telia.com/~u31220486/dvd2avi/dvd2avi.htm , and i hit a wall when trying to open the .d2v file with VFAPICONV. Not too sure what I did wrong. The DVD2AVI version I used was the 1.77.4 version and the VFAPIConv1.05 English. i loaded up 2 vobs onto DVD2AVI, the audio settings were Demux All Track (what does demux mean?). I didn't touch the video options though and just saved the project. The audio stream was originally AC3 2 Channel. Anyone has any idea, can help me out? Thx.

I would suggest that you ditch VFAPI and VDub filtering and go with AVISynth so as to keep the entire process in YV12. This will give you faster encoding times and better quality.

Probably easiest is to use something like AutoGK.

i'm not really looking for easy methods. I'm looking for one that gives quality. Using multiple programs is not an issue here.

ok, how do i get rid of the codec? using Gspot to list the codecs, it hilighted VFAPIconv as red which means it has error. The cause was that the .dll file cannot be found. i suspect this is codec prob could be causing my comp some playback problems.
