hi guys i have some HD xvid files on my computer and i was wondering if i hooked my comp to my HD tv via S-video could i watch it? i tried on a regular definition TV and there was no picture. i did a search and i couldn't find anything on this particular question.

you should be able to view anything that you can view on your monitor. does other video work fine?

As long as you can play the video on your computer you should be able to view it via the TV output. You just have to get your graphics drivers configured properly.

It's a display card issue.
PS: Alternatively it's a hardware transcoder issue. Some advanced DVD players act as transcoders to HDTV output formats.
