  1. Hi, I need to create a menu with static thumbnails using Ulead DVD Workshop but I cannot find how to.
It is also hard to me to find how to tell the program which 20 secs of video to use as motion thumbnail.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hey, canadateck,

What version of DWS do you have? I've got 2.0 and I can't find that option.

Create a small 20-second clip of the video you want to use as your motion button. Create your menu, link your menu button to the right chapter. Then drag the small 20-second clip onto the button -- it will use that as the motion for that button.

Yeah, that's the workaround I use.

I'm using 2 but I think the update makes 2.2 not sure,Says 2 in one spot 2.2 in another.

I just use my (Video Clip) as the Button. No need to make a link then use the (Video Clip) to over ride the (button Link) when the (video Clip) can be used as the button to begin with.

But I may not be understanding what your saying.

The question was how to use a specific 20-second clip as the motion button. If you want to use the 20 seconds that start from your chapter point, then you don't need a separate clip. But if you want to use a different 20-second clip than the 1st 20-seconds from your chapter button, you have to do it with a separate clip...

You can change the timing of the "loop" point, but the 1st iteration will start from the beginning, while subsequent iterations will start from your loop point...

  10. I understood his question.

This is not what I understood.

Why not just use your (Video Clip) as the button in the first place.

Sometimes chapters are at fade to/from black. If you don't want your motion button to start off from the black (or you want to use any other 20-second clip for that motion button), you can use a different video clip for that motion button.

If you want to use the 1st 20-seconds starting from your linked-to title/chapter, then you don't need the second clip.

  12. I thought there was a way to cut a clip in DWS and use that as the button instead of doing it in another program?

I never tried as I always have everything ready before going into DWS.

What version are you using? I use v2 and cannot see that option.
By the way, fade in video is the problem because I need to select another 20 sec of video for the thumbnail.

he's using DVD WS 2.x -- are you in the MENU step, and then click on a button, and make sure you are on the BUTTON tab.

Also, did you try the approach I suggested?
