    basically guarunteed to freeze at least a couple times a day for the past week, doesnt seem to matter what or how much is running. is there any way i could find out what a reason for this would be

    It's usually a process of elimination.

    Check your software and drivers by booting in 'Safe Mode' and run that way for a while. If the problem is recent, software is a good guess. Do a 'system restore' to an earlier time. Also consider any changes you have made to the system before the problem started.

    Next, check all internal connections, make sure the boards are seated and the plugs are tight.

    Then power supply. If you can run a program like Motherboard Monitor or similar, you can check your voltages and temperatures while it is running.

    Then start unplugging components one at a time, (With the system off and unplugged, of course) external first, then internal, such as DVD and CD drives until you have only the essentials running, Video card and boot drive.

    Run Memtest86 or similar on your memory modules and trade them out temporarily if you can.

    If you rule out power supply, Hard drive, video card, memory, then you have to consider the the CPU or the motherboard.

    Hopefully, before you get that far, you may find the problem.
