    When I watch videos on my computer I use vlc. I think it is very dark and when I watch on the TV I almost see nothing. Is there a way to make the picture lighter just on the movie and not on the whole screen?

    Try to go to the advanced setting in screen properties and adjust overlay. You will need to have a video running to enable the overlay settings.
