I'm having some very annoying problems using Vdub and Vdubmod. I am trying to encode subtitles onto an AVI. I thought that frameserving it into TMPGEnc would be much faster not having to save it as an AVI.

I did everything correctly but after it finished encoding and I play the M2V file, Vdub seems to have placed an extra frame at the very beginning. The frame is from the middle of the AVI! After that one frame goes by, then the AVI starts from its starting point. I've tried both Vdub and Vdubmod and they both do the same thing. Why is this happening?

Wow, I've been using VirtualDub since the first release and I have never seen anything like that.

Have you been to the VirtualDub forum? Not only does the creator of the program hang out there and answer questions, he likes to know what new bugs are found so that he can fix them in the next release.

I scanned it just now and it says 0 frames bad. My Vdubmod version is 1.5.10.1. Is that the latest version? I don't keep updated.

I also tried encoding a small portion of the beginning in TMPGEnc and it was fine. But when I encoded the whole thing, that error was there again. I guess I'll check that link out.
