  1. I am try to back up music disc using DVD Shrink but to no avail. I try to use DVD Decrypter and it works but it leave me file with size of 7Gz which is too large. Even though, I did open the VIDEO_TS folder from Decrypter after it decrypted and all the files are showing, but when I use DVD Shrink to rip again, no movie is show on the re-author menu at all.
    This music video is made by Paris By Night (Vietnamese Entertainment Corporation), it said that this video can't be backup or duplicate becuz it has special code software incorp to deter pirate copy.

    When I use DVD Shrink to rip again . . . .

    Do you mean rip again, or to read the files that DVD Decrypter ripped ? If DVD Decrypter can rip them, Shrink can read them After all, DVD Decrypter has done all the hard work of removing copy protection.

    SonVinh;

    Thuy Nga used Sony Arccos protection. It's very easy to break the code after decrypted with dvd decrypter by using either DVD2to1 to make copy or you can process it through VOBBLANKER and use VOBBLANKER out put files for DVD SHRINK. However, each dvd is more than 2:30 hrs long so DVD shrink or DVD2to1 will not give you a good quality for a full back up. What I did to back up mine was using DVDremaker pro to rip all the commercial ads but kept the menus(VOBBLANKER does the samething). Then using the latest DVDrebuilder and Procoder to back up and the results was wonderfull. Thuy Nga mess up 5.1 AC3 audio this time so don't back up AC3 5.1 but Ac3 2 channels.

  6. Hi thinktkd,
    you know what, I was able to decrypt the video with DVD Decrypter in "Mode File F" in my hard drive and I did open VIDEO_TS folder after Decrypter rip it, everything was there. I even be able to play it with WinDVD. However, when I use DVD Shrink to reauthor to take only movie, the movie file was not there in the reauthor menu of DVD shrink, only menu was there....You said Thuy Nga use Sony Arccos protection, but with some American I have from Sony I was able to decrypt with Decrypter and reauthor with DVD Shrink with no problem...all file include menu, movie, extra folder were there. Do you have any idea

    Sony Arccos is the latest protection scheme from Sony and it intents to mess up the DVD structure. The latest DVD Decrypter can decrypt it but does not fix the dvd structure, thus when you try to use Shrink to back up Shrink would not see ther main VTS file. Here is the steps that I used to back up after decrypted to my HD
    1. Using DVD REMAKER Blanked out commercial ads. Save it to different VIDEO_TS folder (don't use the same folder that Decrypter used)
    2. Used DVD rebuilder to back up to get the best quality. It took 6 hrs for each disc. depend on your system.
    3. Used Nero to burn it.

    I did not use Shrink to back up but I did check to make sure Shrink can read the VTS file and took out 5.1 AC3. No Problem at all. by the way, you can use VOBBLANKER insteads of DVD REMAKER and it is free too. The reason that I used DVDREMAKER because it is more compatible with DVDREBUILDER. Hope this help

    The latest DVD Decrypter WILL rip Sony Arccos properly. If you're getting a bogus file structure when ripping then you aren't using the LATEST version.

    WTF are you talking about? I haven't yet found a movie that won't rip with DVD Decrypter. Not a single one. If you find one, and send it to me, and I can't rip with it - I will PAY YOU. I already issued this challenge in another thread. Nobody was game, and neither are you, so STFU.
