im using a sony dru 700a havnt made any changes to my pc and all of a sudden dvd's are taking about 40 minutes.im using dvd shrink and nero.....6 nero says its burning at 8x 11000kbs....ive tried a cfew different media types sony memorex and fuji they are all 8x compatible...prior to this problem i was having a few movies here and there that would freeze when i would play them back on my dvd player also had a few burns freeze on me also.....ive checked dma in bios it is set to auto i havnt updated the firmware but it was working fine for quite a while i burned prolly 60 movies or so before i started having problems.................... anyone got any suggestions

Is DMA enabled? Check in device manager for the IDE controller.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
ya i checked in there it says transfer mode dma if available and under current transfer mode it says dma ultra mode 5....

when all else fails reinstall nero.......geuss i should have tried that first it seems to have solved the problem! thx
