I am having a problem with the sound when capturing AVI type-2 from my video camera.
I run AVIcodec and it says there is a PCM audio stream in the file captured but still I can't hear anything.
I have also captured AVI type-1 and I have no problems with sound. Does anybody know why?
I am connected through a firewire and I am capturing using WinDV and VirtualDub.
If noboby knows why, can they tell me at least if there is any loss in quality when I am converting AVI type-1 into type-2?
After converting the files in my computer the type-2 plays ok with sound.
    Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

Pardon me for paraphrasing a bit here, but you say that when capturing straight to Type 2, you can play the file afterwards and there's no audio, yet if you capture to Type 1, then convert to Type 2, you get audio ? Is that the issue, or have I misread ?

There's definitely no quality loss when converting Type 1 to Type 2 or vice-versa.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks jimmalenko for the quality loss info.
And yes that is right!, you said it!, that is exactly what is happening.
What do you think is wrong?
