slowdown while playing racing games

hi everyone!


i have this problem while playing driving games, when playing collin mcrae
every 10 seconds my screen freezes for 1/2 second, its like these on any other car game i own.

while playing shoot'em ups this problem doesnt appear.

i tried changing resolutions and deactivating certain features that demand a lot from the pc but the problem persists.

i have a pentim 4 2.66
nvidia ge force 5200
512 mg ram

You could also see if you have the latest directx.

check out the processes running under the task manager. Maybe sit and watch the process list by sorting on CPU usage. See if anything spikes regularly and shut it down

im on dial up and downloading patches is expensive for me as i have to pay for the time that i download the file.

i done that and i only noticed a spike on a process callledIsass.exe that took the usage from 5% to 7%













anything abnormal in the pics?(besides the foreign language!

what botters me is that it only happens in driving games(cm3,ford racing2 and others)

shoot'em ups like max payne 2, medal of honour, soldier of fortune 2, call of duty they all play fine without any fault.


one last question, can anyone tell me what does it mean"tv codec integrated"?(first picture) does it mean i can capture video from outside sources?

Your card probebly has a video OUT for hooking up to tv or other monitor.

basically geforce gives best support for openGL games not directX but well mite be some bugs in game i had same prob with vietcong.just try some patches
