I was wondering how you configure the printer to work with this router. I have had this router for about a year or 2 now and i haven't been able to configure it correctly......The router has a printer port on it. I have 2 computers. one has windows 98 2nd ed., and the other has xp home. I can get the printer to work on the computer with 98 but i can't figure it out on the windows xp.. I have looked through the book many times and i can't seem to find anything that would help. any suggestions......

Have you already installed the Print Server software on your XP machine?
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.

I've been through this a few times with my D-Link 704UP. Install the D-Link print server driver first, then reboot.

Then if you go to the D-link web site, go to your router support page, then to the FAQs. It has the instructions to set it up that work every time.

The included disc doesn't always work with all setups, though the driver is fine.

The XP printer setup in control panel is all but useless. You need to use the printer and fax setup in the start menu as the FAQ suggests.

When it locates the printer, it should prompt you for the printer disc or just use the ones included with XP.

EDIT: Make sure you have printer sharing turned on also in networking.
