Best example i can think of is APPLE FILM TRAILERS SITE. ( http://www.apple.com/trailers/ )

They have a window with apple quicktime imbedded in it. What if you cant right click the vid, but you can right click the page.

Is there anyway of getting this vid onto your HDD? It isn't streamed, so it must be somewhere, right? I've checked temp IE files and it isn't there.

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.
I also tried scanning my drive for *.mov once it downloaded, but no joy :/

    ------------

    open quicktime

edit ---> preferences---> quicktime preferences --> browserplugin----> save movies in disk cache

^^ I've already done that but it wont let me save

    ------------

I've gone to the command prompt, got to the root directory c:\ and typed...

    dir *.mov /s/o/a

and found files, but they come up with results like...

    c:\documents and settings\****\local settings\temporary internet files\content.IE5\MDZW98FY

but when i go into temp int files, that folder, 'content.IE5' isnt there.

    any ideas?

    Thanks

You need Quicktime Pro to see the save menu. Some movies are set to no-save. In this case, you can either a) save it in the cache then reset the computer, or b)get the .mov url from the source and use wget to download the file. Sometimes, the source only points to the 'pointer' file. In this case, you have open the pointer .mov file in notepad and get the real file's url. Once in a while the pointer file is encrypted so the cache and reset method is the only viable option.

The easiet way to get the url is to use Firefox and view page info then go to the Media tab and scroll down the list.
