That's just a sample, there are more. Fake media pisses me off. I'm curious if anybody has more information on any of these.
The "TDK quality" has no media code. And it says it's "metal-stabilized cyanine dye" which is not TDK (TDK does not use a light purple cyanine dye). Suspicious.
The 16x "OEM by Taiyo Yuden" media is awfully cheap. And notice they also sell "Genuine Taiyo-Yuden", whatever the differentiation is supposed to mean.
Several other instances of devious marketing.![]()

The TY discs say 8x not 16x, unless you've got the link wrong. They are more expensive than Supermediastore's DVD-R discs. Most of the TY discs I got from them were 8x even though they say 4x. Got most of them for about $26/100 after shipping.

The SMS house brand TY are fake too.

This fake media stuff is really becoming widespread. The "wonderful" vendors that you show on digitalFAQ.com are amoung the worst offenders with this fake media problem. Call them and ask to speak to the person who runs the place; then listen, you'll get a clue about what is going on - enough said.

Supermediastore, Meritline, Allmediaoutlet, and Rima are the four best companies you can deal with, when it comes to bulk media in the USA. Aside from these 4 vendors, all you have is fly-by-nights and companies that are far more vile.
This AMO issue is one of concern, they should not be presenting fake media as legit. That is the point of this post.
- Retail stores do not count. They do not do bulk, and comparatively, they are very expensive when you start to buy hundreds or thousands of discs.
- Places like newegg, amazon and tigerdirect have even more issue to deal with, including fake rebates, bad shipping, etc.
- In Canada, you have blankmedia.ca and a couple more.
- In UK, you have SVP and just a couple others.
SCDVD, I also remind you that moderators have warned you in the past for your aggressive attitude. Like one of them said just a few days ago: "cool it".Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

reading those ads, I thought ,..
is it TDK- quality premium discs, or
is it TDK quality- premium discs ?
definately suspicious looking outlet. I'd make sure before buying the 1200 pack ! -
I see no reason to doubt the Burnmaster spindles. The information flat out says the discs are made by Taiyo Yuden in Japan, they're in TY cakeboxes, and the discs LOOK like TY discs (look at the outer hub ring on the DVD+R display picture).

I found 3 other sellers who sell Burnmaster. It would appear that these are a new "branded" TY. An email to TY USA should answer this if anyone wishes to confirm.
