Pioneer DVR-A09 - the A08 is redundant now.
    If in doubt, Google it.

I'd choose the BENQ 1620 which is not on that list then the PLEXTOR 716 which I'll be getting the slot version in the next few weeks.

The NEC drives are quite good (loads of firmware choices, great community (unofficial) support. Not the greatest readers, but top notch write quality. I have the 3500A. Not the best choice if you want to stay "offical."

I don't trust plextor anymore, not after all the problems I had with my 712A. Plextools is a very attractive software package, and is the strong point of current plextor drives.

can't really comment on the others, as I have no personal experience with them, althought my personal choice of the remaining drives would be Pioneer, LG, then liteon (in that order).

[edit: BenQ 1620 is also a good choice, from what I have read. The company seems to actually listen to and support it's customers. *Note that I do not have any personal experience with them, but BenQ is high on my list for my next burner purchase.]
Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... At least that is what my dogs think.
