Had this about a week. Have scheduled and recorded several programs successfully to DVD-RAM. Except last night.
I set it to record a program on Channel 5 (NBC) at 8 p.m. While it was recording, I tried watching it (one of the benefits of RAM). Although the front Panel display said it was recording Channel 5, and the thumbnail on the menu said it was recording Channel 5, it was actually recording Channel 7 (PBS).
When it finished recording, the display still said Channel 5, but it was outputting Channel 7 through the component connection. The thumbnail was labelled Channel 5. The recording was of Channel 7.
After changing stations on the ES30V with the remote, it reset itself correctly.
Also had wierdness the other night while playing back a recorded program through the component connection. Duplicate video re-appeared in the bottom 1/3 of the screen for about 10 seconds and then slowly drifted out of frame (a top/bottom split screen of the same image). This happened twice while watching it. I'm not sure if this was a DVD or TV problem. In any event, I couldn't replicate it.
Have you ever had either of these problems?
I may have to take the machine back to Circuit City while the 30 day exchange is in effect.
