I am using an older AIW 128 Pro 34mb card with MMC 8.7 for video capture purposes - no games. Will I benefit from upgrading to 9800 AIW Pro please?
Does it make a difference to go for a similar ASUS or MSI capture card?

If this is the 128 PRO with RAGE THEATRE capture chips, then no, not really. The 9800 is only graphics faster, capture chips are pretty much the same.
THEATRE chips are excellent, hard to beat. Some of the other cards you just mentioned would be a downgrade.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

You're also using ATI MMC 8.7 ... don't change a thing. That's an excellent combination of hardware/software.
