This is not ment as a whine nor bash session, but the other day I posted
a NEWS article, and abruptly found the thread lock by Baldrick with the new lil message to the nature of 'Search Before Posting' because someone had posted the same type of NEWS a few hours before.
Doing a search, there was nothing that videohelp returned even near the time frame of the other's post, which was relayed to the aboved mentioned with no response.
Once again, I posted another NEWS article (Posted: Apr 22, 2005 17:39) and again another had posted the same style article, however, this time they had posted it at (Posted: Apr 22, 2005 23:23). Yet my thread was locked again.
Again, not a whine session, just wondering how many others have had threads locked even when they have posted way before another, or received the message SEARCH BEFORE POSTING, when I can very well
contest that videohelp's search engine seems to not be displaying results
that could cut down on the multiple same topic post.
I'm 2 for 2 on locked threads, and am sure this will boost me to #3 before nights end.

Don't freak out on us dude!
It looks like you where a day late on one topic and the other may have had more replies than yours before they decided to close one.(Bummer) The fact that you are posting simular topics goes to show that you may be hanging with a like minded crowd. As long as you weren't really carded or scolded too hard I would just take it in stride. (They are just trying to keep the site tidy.)(I don't do a full blown search before I post, but a quick check of what is currently posted has stopped me from starting a new thread a time or two)
Then again it could be a plot to get you! If that is the case then I don't know you
I clicked on your link. Site looks good. I will be going back.IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

LOL Wasn't exactly ment as a bi$^h feast, but more of an informational.
I have no problem with the admin, mods etc doing their 'jobs' to keep the site in order, as I am sure it's quite a daunting task.
There does seem to be issues with the search engine though, and I'll admit I was one of the first to jump on the 'Have You Searched Yet' bandwagon, but being on the other end this time, I can certainly understand where alot of the 'noob(s) not searching' post have originated from, wether they did in fact search or not.
Just distressing at times when you take the time to attempt to support the site, events happen, and the communication gap between the need to know powers is extream at times....
To the others, if I ever mentioned 'Did You Search First' in any of your threads, my bad....
If its all a plot to get me, then it's prolly more of a waste of their time then mine, cause I know NUFFIN

Yep, I have mentioned before (long ago) that this site can seem difficult to use. There is alot of stuff here, and a search can be difficult to do when you use different terminology or such. Or don't really know what you are looking for to start with. I try to tread lightly, be somewhat polite and hope that I don't get stomped on if I screw up!

Give me $34098230948320498 and I can build an own google search.
. In the news section can you just hit ctrl-f and search in the subjects or browse manually.
Sabro: don't use the google search(it take some weeks before it googles our site). Click on the news forum, use the search at the topic and type one keyword...like virus.

We'll do just that, however, I've always used the 'google' search before posting up to this, and never had any threads locked.
No biggie as stated before, just I have a feeling maybe others are falling in to the same situtation when it comes to 'searching'.

PS. $34098230948320498 is that all? Would ya like that in large or small bills?www.sabronet.com - It's all you need...to know

I sometimes find the forum search hard to use too, Sabro. You aren't alone.
Don't take it personally if a thread is locked though, especially for a benign reason like that. Granted, it is a bit weird but I suppose it just stops two debates happening on the same subject, and stops confusion.
It's part of forum life, having threads locked. You know I got a formal warning once? I got it from tgpo on account of the fact that I'd never had one before!
Take it easy,
Cobra
