I have a build which I need testing. At this point it is only for registered users. If you are interested in being part of the test - drop me an email/PM for the link. (I will need your reg email).
With this build, I am particularly interested in tests involving:
- AVI (PAL) to NTSC DVD
- AVI (NTSC FILM) to NTSC DVD
- MPEG-2 (PAL) to NTSC DVD
As these conversions have been completely rehashed and now involve demuxing & pulldown. Because of the demuxing – audio/video sync is not guaranteed as it was before. This should not affect avi’s but it may do the mpegs (in the same way that v1.5 did).
The hope is that this type of conversion should now result in smoother playback. If this is so, I will jettison the older method. However I need feedback as to whether others agree this is the way forward.
TIA
CB

- AVI (PAL) to NTSC DVD
- AVI (NTSC FILM) to NTSC DVD
- MPEG-2 (PAL) to NTSC DVD
I only think that I have "AVI (NTSC FILM) to NTSC DVD" these laying around.
Most of my mpg's are ntsc already.
Don't think I have the rest. But I have to exam my files. I assume I can see the info in s2d when I drag the files to the asset window?

Indeed. I shall send you a link. Thanks.

I found a small bug in the test build you sent me, I minimized svcd2dvd during the authoring part(so I could do some other things) and it did not appear in the task bar, the project finished ok according to the logs(not burn tested yet), but several hours later the svcd2dvd.exe process was still running and consuming 50MB of memory and 1-2% cpu. The conversion was AVI (PAL) to PAL DVD.
-
ok. I will try to replicate this.

do you mean "task bar" or "system tray"?

It worked fine for me here Chrissyboy. I always minimize when encoding. No problem with it showing up in the system tray.
-
I meant the system tray.It Doesn't normally happen, but this time I only decided to minimise during the authoring process (creating vob's). Here's the logs anyway.

Howdy..
I converted 2 NTSC AVI files last night & they both were outta sync terrible on both my computer & on DVD with RC 9. The AVI file plays fine on the computer before encoding..I tried them 2x's each, & same thing..Thanks.. -
I did a PAL SVCD to NTSC DVD Project last night and no probs here. I also did another project with 3 different kids films on, one of which was a kvcd and no probs there either. This version for me anyway is the best so far.
