Hi. Starting out new here and am getting extremly confused about compatibility issues. Was wondering if someone can answer some questions for me.
I have been backing up using a lite-on sohw 812s. Was first using verbatim 8X with a media code (mcc 003). Was playing it on my Mustek r100a recorder. Was working ok. I went out and got a spindle of fujifilm 8X media code (yuden000to2) and kept having problems with these backups freezing 2/3rds into viewing. After running on DVDinfo and checking for errors i was coming up with 300 errors on the disk. I only had one verbatim so far give me errors but will play after inserting the disc, take it back out and then reinsert. I searched the forum and came up with some things about labels and how they can throw the disc out of balance and actually create more heat on the disc. What made things worse was when i took the label off one of the fuji disc that were freezing and tried it on my mom's player, it worked. So i figured the labels were causing the problems. Now after trying the same disc in my mustek, still not working.
I kind of get the compatibility issues with the player but are there compatibility issues with writers and certain types of media. If so, i think the lite-on may not be working with the fuji discs. I also have the writer flashed with the latest firmware as well as the mustek.
sorry to ramble but getting a little stumped here.
thanks
