    Hi Gents
    Is there a software that will take DV (via firewire) and encode to mpg and burn to DVD in "real time".

    I know stand alones will do it but how about through a PC?

    I think Ulead DVD Workshop 2 can. It can take analogue input straight to DVD so I don't see why it can't do the same with DV. Download the 30 day trial from www.ulead.com and try it.

    Ulead's DVD MovieFactory 4.0 DC can do it (provided your computer meets minimum requirements).
