The Verbatim are good media. TDK? Who can tell nowadays... sometimes it's good, sometimes not.

  3. I've been buying Verbatim spindles of 100. I used to buy the 25 and 50 packs but the price of the stuff has come down to the point where the 100 packs are even cheaper than the 50 packs used to be. I've gone through 5 of the 100 packs already with maybe 2 or 3 coasters total. I have another one that I'm about half way through now and I've already had like half a dozen coasters. I figure it's just luck of the draw, or my drive is failing. I've got about 1500-2000 burns out of this Sony DRU500A drive so far. Not really sure what to expect from this drive, but I've had it for about 2-3 years now. I've always used Verbatim & had great results.

If these are Verbatim Pastels (light pastel pink, yellow, green coloured tops), they are usually only sold in Europe. They come in slimline jewel cases in packs of 5 so sound like they might be. If they are, get as many as you can, the media code is TYG02. That's right, genuine Taiyo Yuden dye!
