I have a DVD with audio playing slightly early. It was made from downloaded xvid material.

Anyone ever had to re-synch a DVD before?

    Whats the best way?

As it has no protection, rip it as movie only in DVD Shrink, load the vobs into DVD Lab Pro and demux. Use the audio delay function to shift the audio back and forth until you get it lined up. It might take a couple of goes, but it can be done. I had a poorly authored school concert DVD brought to me for this type of work. What I have described is pretty much the process I used.

You will loose the menus though. There may be otherways to demux, shift and remux while keeping the original DVD structure, but I haven't had need to do that yet.

  3. you could go the other way also. If you have the original xvid material then demux the audio and video using VirtualDubMod. Then re-encode the separated audio & video files to a DVD compliant MPEG2 file using TMPGEnc. Reauthor the MPEG2 file with DVDLab or TMPGEnc DVD Author or any other and create your DVD. Normally this should correct the audio video sync.
