Hey everyone - just received a pressie from my folks from hong kong - a usb web cam - POMAX is the brand. Only prob is there is no mac support for it! anyone know of some third party software to make it OSX compliant?

The only drivers on the POMAX site are for Windows and it's not on IOXperts's USB WebCams We Support list. Seems like you're stuck with an "obsure OEM brand", as this weblog calls it.

Sorry, don't know anything useful about your webcam problemexcept that if youre planning on trying to webchat with your parents and they have a PC you might as well give up now, I had the same idea and unless your parents are pretty comfortable with adjusting firewalls it is virtually impossible to get iChat to videochat with PC-AOL. I had some success with a couple of cross-platform videochat apps (one was SightSpeed), but neither was that great (much smaller window than iChat, or much lousier pic quality).
