  1. I am using WinAvi video converter to convert a avi file to vob files so i can burn it to dvd. This is no problem it does it fine. When I go to play the movie that is fine also until about two thirds of the movie has played the movie keeps stopping and starting like someone is using the pause button. Eventually it stops alltogether and you dont see the end.
The Avi movie plays fine on the computer so not sure what the problem is or maybe I should be using something else to convert it.
    Does anyone have any ideas.

I use Nero to burn so I dont think that is a problem.

You stated the avi plays fine from the computer. After you convert the avi does the converted video play ok from your computer ? If not you can assume something is wrong in the conversion. If ok then you can assume something is wrong in the burning process or as stated above bad media. dvd rw are nice untill you find the problem. Saves on coasters.

  5. I see you are in USA. Hmm, I bet your avi is 23.976 and the converted DVD with divxtoDVD is 29.97. I am sorry to disapoint you so badly but it is for all sake not the right conversion. If you didn't realize stil, than look better that in every 4 frames (or so) you have one duplicated (hardcoded) frame. The right is then not to have this. This is achieved through a process called pulldown of which authors of divxtodvd have apparently no a clue...
