Hi guys
Don’t know if this is the place to post this, but any help will be great!
I am looking at buying a good Projector.
I host a variety show in a theatre in my city and I am looking to add a Projector to the mix.
Does anyone recommend any good Projectors?
- What might suit my needs?
Here’s what I want to do with it:
- Hook my laptop up to it and play internet videos
- Play DVD through it
- Use it as a live Camera (not to record, just to view – so the audience can see themselves during the show)
I want to spend a max of $1,000.00 US
PS. If this forum isn’t the place to post a question like this, then does anyone know of any other websites that might be best suited for me?
Thanks so much!

Good projector? Your budget is off by 5-10x
It may work if your stage (projector target) is very dark and the audience is very small.
I suggest you rent from a theater supply company that can advise you.

Hi!
Thanks for getting back!
That’s a great idea edDV! I will do just that…thanks for the tip.
In the meantime, I may as well find some information on the cheaper Projectors.
I went to the store and took a look at this one today:

Does anyone know any good Projectors that would suit my needs?

at that price range and the fact you need more than a couple people to see it -
a lcd woud be most likely a better buy ..

I would second wayne421's recomendation of Projectorcentral. It's been a good site for me as far as up to the date advice. Both LCD and DLP projectors have improved in the last couple of years. The more you learn, the better the decision as to the type of projector you want or need.

Hi lordsmurf.
Sorry for the inconvenience made with my two posts…it wasn’t my intention to have that happen
My intention was to start different posts…but they both kinda ended up saying the same thing as time went on. Sorry.
