Powerful images

i thought it would be good to share some powerful images. i find the most powerful images are of people, although there are exceptions to that, i remember seeing some hurricane photos last year that took my breath away.
anyway i will start the thread off with a photo from 1956, it has the story in writing on it.
i think many of us have loved someone that much, missed someone that much and felt as much as these two at some point in our lives, the look on the girls face shows she had been hurting for some time at the absence of her father.

so anybody got any powerful images to share?

heres another that i found quite striking, although in a completely different way. seeing that much gold, in that truck just strewn in like that, it makes a thought provoking image, in my opinion.

ok heres one that i find very powerful and striking. not just because the power exuded by the amounts of fire and smoke given off by the rocket blasting off, but the very fact that we are able to place ourselves outside our own planet and exist was not done for the first time until maybe 50 odd years ago? or maybe 60 odd but even so it is now a fairly regular event. that to me is quite a profound thought and a striking image.
