I just started making up dvd's from movies i downloaded on irc. I encode them with tmpgenc express and author them with tmpgenc dvd author. I have been using RiDisc Extreme Red with GO5 dye. But sometimes the movies seem to jump. Which i thought would not happen with these discs as they are suposed to be good. I did have crappy mirror ones, but i threw them away, becayse they completely sucked.
I have been putting two movies on a disc, and i have noticed that the second movie is the one that seems to jump. Does that mean the disc is poorer quality when it gets past a certain point in the disc? Or could it possibly be due to me lower the bit rate, because i am making two movies fit on one disc? If anyone else has expereinced this problem, i would love to here your solution, because i've been making movies up for my parents and they are messing up half way through. Not a nice experience![]()

99% of the time the movies jump towards the end due to bad or poor quality media. Ritek is NOT good media ANYMORE! I used to use ritek a lot and it went south very quickly. You might try www.salescircular.com to find local buys in your area on sale. Try to pick up media that is ONLY made in Japan stay away from taiwanese crap. Taiyo Yuden is very high quality media. Most of the time if you buy Fuji discs that are made in Japan you will get Taiyo Yuden media. Try some premium media and see if that solves your problem?
The real answer lies in completely understanding the question! -
Poor media and it sounds like your burner is also acting up. Those RED lines/cirles????
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD! -
Tried lower burn speeds? When i had Nec writer i burned as slow as possible and still had skipping and freezing towards the end on the standalone player sometimes.

The burner is fairly new. I download my movies from #phxmovies on galaxynet. There movies are good quality. What would be the best discs to use? Please bear in mind that they would have to be available in the Uk.
Hopefully it's not my burner, it's hardly even been used 10 times so far. And it's a sony one too, which are supposed to be good quality
My computer information is as follows... 1.6Gig AMD Athlon, 512mb DDR Ram, Xp Pro with service pack 2.
I use tmpgenc express to encode my movies into (pal) dvd. And i use tmpgenc dvd author to author the encode. Then i burn to disc. I will try burning at the slowest speed possible, with all programmes turned off, so that the only programme that's running is the ones that's burning the disc. But if i try all that, and also try the best media possible (that hopefully you can recommend?) and it still does'nt solve the problem, then would i be right in saying that it's my burner that causing the problem? If so could you also recommend me a good burner?
If you need anymore information i will do my best to provide you with it. Thanks for your help guys
