  1. So I simply wish to remove those warnings that come on when you insert a dvd. I've seen the guide telling you how to remove them using VOBrator and IfoEdit and it works in most cases. But recently I've encountered a problem. Usually you have to open the VIDEO_TS.VOB with VOBrator to see which VOB IDs are the ones you want to erase. But not all warnings are in that file, I found the other warnings in other VOB files such as VTS_01_1.VOB or VTS_01_3.VOB files. But how am I to erase these since I can't open the IFO files of these, because IFO files only go like this VTS_01_0.IFO and VTS_02_0.IFO and VTS_03_0.IFO and so on. I guess you just gotta know where to look. Thanks.

When i want to remove certain parts of a DVd (FBI warning, etc) is use VobBlanker. Here are a bunch of guides that should help.

An alternative is PgcEdit. You'll find guides in my signature and also here
MenuShrink a free tool to shrink menus into stills with or without audio!
DVDSubEdit: a free tool to modify your subtitles directly inside the vob.

    My advice:

Buy DVD Remake Pro and kiss your problems goodbye. All this VOBrator, VOBblanker, IFOedit, PGCedit stuff is fine if you love to complicate your life. OTOH, if you want a straightforward solution to your problems, spend the small (and IMO entirely reasonable) amount of money it costs to buy a good tool.

The problem with your current approach is that often those warnings are attached to the menus and not the content... very seldom do they have their own titles.

I'd go with Phantom of the Opera and recommend DVDRemake Pro but the free programs are great once you know how to get the best out of them 8)

I get rid of most of them using VobBlanker. Easiest solution that I found is to play the original DVD in a stand-alone DVD player and take note of the title(set) numbers. If they register as 0, then they're in the menu/Video-TS. I just edit the menu, find these and blank them and then blank any subsequent titlesets. May not fix everything, but checking the outputted copy should show if you missed anything. I guess if the situation becomes more complicated, try some of the other suggestions here.

  9. The latest VOB Blanker can now work with menus. VOB Blanker can blank out single Cells, whole PGC and VOB and it's very easy to use. With it's preview function, you can locate the warnings and then zap them.

I was going to point that out, nic2k4! I was fiddling with Vob blanker just this morning and went "hey, what's with the right-click menu thing... oh HEY!"

In reading the many threads, posts and guides to remove warnings, I'm having trouble with how to do this:

I want to remove FBI warnings but keep the opening logo...the problem is, they're both in the same menu item, so when I hit "delete playback" in VIDEO_TS.IFO, I deleted the opening logo footage as well. Is there a way to further specify what part of the PGC you want to delete/keep?

I've tried many things, --using VOBedit to create a new .VOB with only the logo, tried resetting the related IFO, etc, etc, and nothing has worked. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Vobblanker should be able to let you do that! If the warning and the logos are in 2 different cells (which they probably are), all you need to do in vobblanker is find the PGC, then double click on it, which will popup a dialog with all the cells in the PGC. You can preview them (Preview button) and blank only the one you don't want to keep (Blank button).
