I picked up a copy of King Arthur this past Friday and what I normally do with new movies is immediately back them up and put the original away. So I tried first copying the movie with DVD Shrink 3.2 but the process failed at about 46% into the analyse process. I could'nt even get as far as the encoding process. So I next tried using DVD Decrypter ver 3.5.1 and at about half way I got the same error as DVD Shrink (something about a cylic rendundacy error). So finally out of frustration I tried copying the video ts folder from the DVD straight to my hard drive and again I got the same error.
At this point I thought perhaps my DVD was broken, so yesterday I went out and rented a copy of King Arthur and I got the same results. So at this point I'm not sure if the DVD has some kind of wierd copy protection or if there's some other issue going on. Anyone experience any problems trying to back up this movie?

Sometimes it can be the manufactoring process, packing, or even local environment that is just enough to cause problems.

i found that anydvd, and shrink or decrypter was crap, for me anydvd is shit.
pointless, when decrypting with dvddecrypter,in fact,it seems detrimental .LifeStudies 1.01 - The Angle Of The Dangle Is Indirectly Proportionate To The Heat Of The Beat,Provided The Mass Of The Ass Is Constant. -

You didn't mention the error you were getting. From reading the thread and seeing that cleaning the DVD did the trick, I'm going to assume that you got an I/O error message. For any others reading this thread, I/O errors using DVD Decrypter or DVD Shrink will be a problem with the disk being either dirty or damaged. It will not be a new copy protection scheme. I had the same problem with "The Notebook". Cleaning didn't do the trick. I could actually see the damaged area on the disk itself. Another DVD worked fine.

How is that movie anyway? Is it worth buying or renting?
