I just realized that the picture on all my full screen and widescreen dvd's stretches out when I use this player. I tried zooming in and out but that didn't help. I never noticed this before until I played a dvd-r with a custom made menu. The menu's backround pic was stretched out and the words on the right were cut off. I thought I did something wrong so I tested out some full screen movies I bought and the problem is still there. I did a picture comparison with my older toshiba player and the picture displays fine on it.. unfortunately, the toshiba doesn't support dvd +/- r. My tv is 4:3 and i have that set on the dvd player. Can this be fixed or should I get a new player?

What's your setting on the 727 for your tv type ? is it 4:3 pan and scan or 4:3 letterbox ? If its set to pan/scan thats your problem - set it to 4:3 letterbox and your problem should be solved. If it doesnt work your player may be defective. I've had the 727 for a while and used it on a 4:3 and 16:9 tv and its worked with no problem.
