Found this on the corporation website:
didn't want to put the whole story in, way to long
    --------
The husband-and-wife team of investigative journalists were featured in The Corporation after being fired from the Fox affiliate for refusing to change their investigative report on Posilac, a Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH) made by Monsanto. Despite extensive research documenting the potential health and safety problems of drinking milk treated with the synthetic hormone, WTVT Fox-13 demanded changes that downplayed the concerns. Bowing to the threat of legal action from Monsanto and the potential loss of billions of dollars from advertising revenue, Fox chose to follow its corporate interests at the expense of journalistic integrity and the public trust.
In 1998, Akre and Wilson sued Fox under Florida's whistleblower statute designed to protect those who prevent others from breaking the law. On August 18, 2000, the jury unanimously determined that Fox acted intentionally and deliberately to falsify the news and that Akre's threat to report Fox's misconduct to the FCC was the sole reason for her termination. The state court jury awarded $425,000 in damages. The beleaguered journalists appeared vindicated, and the long hard fight for truthfulness in media won. Unfortunately for all of us, the victory would be short-lived.
On February 14, 2003, an appeals court denied Akre's whistleblower status and reversed the jury's ruling. In a markedly narrow interpretation of FCC rules, the court unanimously agreed with Fox's assertion that there is no law, rule or regulation against the falsification of news. In other words, the US media can knowingly and legally lie.

    My question is....
if fox spews falsehoods and it is legal to do so. how about the other so-called legitimate news medias, and lets not talk about the enquirer type media.
Anyway I read the rest of the story, after fox won the appeal they quickly turned around and sued the journalist for lawyer fees. ******* Rudeness!! I hope fox gets out of the media business, whats the point of watching it if I think its tainted crap desguised as honest truth. -garman

there is a brain-washed audience who want to watch fox news, they wont be going away anytime soon. unless some major scandal, which goes against what their base believes in destroys them.

until that day, they will remain the same.. unless their audience changes their taste.

    Read between the lines...........

    potential health and safety problems
Millions of gallons of milk drunk every day - you'd expect there to be some real health and safety problems, not just 'potential' ones.

Plenty on stuff on media, FOX and politics in my sig.
    Regards,

I think all "alphabet-channel" news programs have one thing in common with FOX news ... they've all drifted away from news reporting and drifted toward more of a commentary approach to news. The only difference between the alphabets and FOX is the "slant" of the commentary.

Sigh ... I miss Huntley & Brinkley and Walter Cronkite, newsmen back in the 50s/60s.
