Sefy, im using your three step method for ripping and encoding to VCD. I use smartripper, dvd2avi and tmpeg. The audio level of the final VCD seems to be quite low compared to the standard level i use to watch tv. Could you please give me some advice on this problem or anyone else.
BTW keep up the good work sefy!!

is it that low?....i just turn the TV up a little bit louder....but if it's that low...u can try normalizing in dvd2avi

The audio level is alot lower than normal. Once I turn the audio level up on my tv then its fine. To give you an idea, my tv is normally set to 30 and when i play a VCD I have to turn it up to 45 or 50 to get the level I need.

Sorry for late reply, can't be as fast as I am when i'm sick
As for your question, I recall vitualis mentioned it somewhere, that DVD's Audio Level is lower then AudioCDs (or something like that) and that's why the WAV that comes out is low.
You can do like poopyhead mentioned, use DVD2AVI to normalize.
This will fix the WAV file, oh, and I believe you can do that in TMPGEnc as well, but I think that will cause encoding time to go up.
Email me for faster replies!

like Sefy said you can do it on TMPGEnc jus go to Settings->Advance->audio effect and double click there and pop up will come up and there i an option there to normalize the wav and do worry it only puts the time to 10 mins more

I actually just go into the audio options on TMPGEnc and set the volume at 110% and that seems to work alright for me.
