Hello,
Me and my friend made a movie and coverted it to a dvd (with menu and all).
But, the warning that shows just before the menu is uncorrect. it's a warning that explains what material the movie contains just like the FBI warning in commercial dvds.
Anyway.. is there a way i can replace that warning with the correct one ?
I coudnt find the specific VOB file.. i really dont know much my frined is the one that conveted it to a dvd.
Thanks![]()

Well, the easiest would be to ask your friend
But if you can't, it depends on how the warning is authored in the DVD. If it's in its own cell you can use vobblanker to replace it. What format is the new warning encoded into?

I wish I could.. but he's out of the country for 3 weeks and I have no way of contacting him.
I have no idea how the warning is encoded, but I checked all the vobs and the third (VTS_03_1.VOB) is with the warning.
anyway.. i didnt convert yet the new warning, but i have it in mpg and will convert it to vob with TMPGEnc.
is it able to replace it with vobblanker ? if yes i'd be thenkful if you could explain how.
thanks again -
I know you can replace a cell with another one in vobblanker. So the next question is: are the original warnings in their own cell (I'm guessing they are!).
You can check that
- with vobblanker - open the DVD. Click on VTS 3, and look through all the PGCs at the bottom to find the warning: click on the first PGC then click "Prev/Cut" which will let you preview the PGC. This way you can find which cell the warning is in.
- You can also do that with PgcEdit: open the DVD, go to VTS3 (not VTSM3, VTS3) on the left. Then for each PGC, hit the "`" key to preview until you find the warning. When you find the PGC with the warning, double click on it, which will open a new panel where you can see each cell individually. You can preview them with the small arrows on the right of the panel.
SOOOO. If you can make sense of these explanations and if you find that your warning reside in a given cell, you can replace it with another one using vobblanker. You just select the PGC, click Cell, you get the list of cells, you select the one in question and click replace. It will ask you where to look for the replacement.
Before that, you should set the output folder so vobblanker will know where to put the processed files...

Okay.. I think I got it. but theres something werid...
first.. i just want to make clear that the whole third part contains the warning (VTS_03_0.IFO, VTS_03_0.VOB, VTS_03_1.VOB).
Now, when i cheked the cells with vobblanker it showed me that the warning is split to 3 differnt cells. (it 6 seconds total).
So is there a way to delete 2 cells and just replace 1 cell ? or perhaps i can the whole PGC ?
and after i replace the cell\PGC and get the output how do i burn the dvd with the new warning ?
Thanks alot for your help -
The warning is in 6 cell??? for a 6 second warning?
How did you figure that out? Be careful in vobblanker's preview, don't use the bottom slider because it can get you past the current cell. Instead, use the top slider and the drop-down box to select the cell you want to preview. I seriously doubt that a 6s clip would be spread over 3 cells, but hey, it's quite possible!
In any case, that shouldn't make any difference: If you find that indeed it's over 3 cells,
Blank the 2nd and 3rd cells (use the blank button),
and replace the first one with your new warning.
The click "Process", making sure the you have all the VTS selected as "Process" and not "skip" (so vobblanker will create a full working DVD).
After vobblanker finishes. Got to the output folder, and try playing the DVD in PowerDVD or mediaplayer classic or any DVD player, just to see if it works.
When you're ready you can burn your DVD. There are many ways to do that:
- Use Nero
- If you don't have Nero, you can use PgcEdit which calls Decrypter and Imgtools to create an ISO and burn it...
There are many guides in the guide section on how to burn a DVD....
Let me know how that goes!
