    i have an hp dvd 420i and it works flawlessly but i read that it can also burn dual layer discs...was wondering how this can be done...it says it burns single layer...i have had this drive since last june (2004) and have not had a coaster yet using many different brands on dvd's ...thanks in advance

    I think it is an OEM NEC 2500a. If this is the case it can be flashed to a 2510a and burn dual layer disks.
