  1. I am very new at using dvdr's. I have a liteon 5005 that I used to make some home movies on. Everything worked great. THey play on all of my dvd players and my pc. I also have the new micro advantage dual dvd burner.

I am trying to make a back up of the disc I just made in the liteon 5005. It is on a DVD+R. But since it is a standalone recorder it is in DVD+VR format.

I have tried every program I can think of. Nero, Clone CD, Disc Juggler, Stomp recordnow max. None will make a copy of the disc. They all get to about 96% and then fail.

I really just want to do "copy on the fly' (yes I know there can be problems with that method at times, for both vcd & dvd). But I can not get any of the programs to make a copy, on the fly or saving the image to the HD first. I've tried both methods. None work.

I used dvdinfo, and it says everything is fine. I also managed to make a copy of a dvd-r to dvd+r that a friend gave me to make sure my burners were working and it came out fine.

Is there something I am missing? Can I not make a copy of a disc made with a standalone recorder?? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried DVD Decrypter ISO->Read, ISO->Write ? I beleive it can handle -VR disks.
