  1. I want a short 2 minute video to play in front of each chapter. Its the same video--Do i have to copy and place it multiple times or can I point to the one file in front of each chapter? Im not too profecient with many programs but im planning on buying TMPGENC DVD Author.

Is this a relatively easy thing to do?

It is realatively easy to do, but I don't know if TDA can do it. It's done with command sequences, because you have to have a re-entry reference.

    For example:
At the end of every chapter, jump to a command sequence that says:

Set GPRM1 to your Chapter number.
Jump to your 2 minute video.
After the video, jump to another command sequence.
    In that one:
If GPRM1 = the number of your chapters,
then jump to main menu (or stop)
    else
Jump to the chapter with value = GPRM1+1

Of course, you'll have to use your programs proper syntax to do these statements, but this is the general idea.

  3. Hmmm im not much of a programmer but I can try.

Can you recommend a program that can do this if TMPGENC DVD AUTHOR cant?

Just load the same clip into each track as many times as you want.

This will work too, but if you have a lot of chapters, you will have to sacrifice a lot of space for the duplicates.

  6. I just wanted to save room. If its too hard ill just forget it and duplicate the video multiple times.

  7. This is another neat feature with studio 9. You can have intros before menus or chapters if you wish. However, studio can bring tears to your eyes at the same time.

Heh...What I'd recomend doing, is authoring the file (if size is important) that you want to have before every chapter, as a DVD video by itself. Then run it through DVD shrink at max quality etc.. View your video, make sure the quality is still acceptable.

If your video is all one file, and you want to put the clip in before every chapter...What you could do, load the clip, then, set the end point as the end of your chapter. Now, add DVD Video under the same track, and select your shrunk file that you want to play (or unshrunk, whatever).

Now, add file, again under the same track. Add your video again, this time, however, making the starting point the beginning of what you want to be chapter 2, and end point, of course, at the end of chapter 2.

Once again, add your shrunken DVD video. Repeat this process until completed.

There are probably other programs that can do this much more efficiently, and less time consuming, however, if you really want to do it with TDA, this method will work.

DVD Lab Pro and playlists. Just keep refering back to the one clip, and no need to cut up the original.
