When I copy my wedding video raw footage onto a DVD, there are often gaps in the original video and my DR-M10 stops recording. So when I come back 2 hours later, sometimes I only get 10 min. on the DVD and I don't know it until I Finalize the DVD and watch it. How can I get the DR-M10 to keep recording right thru the gaps?

    sneed,

I assume you use FireWire port when you copy your tape to DVD.

The only way to solve this problem:

DON'T make gaps when you shoot your video.

All DVD recorders that have FireWire port will do the same thing: they will stop recording when there is no data via FireWire port.

  3. You might want to Strip your Tapes before recording onto them.

If you're talking about old vhs tapes...
Use a TBC that automatically switches to "colorbars" when it
does not see a video signal. (such as the AVT-8710)
Then edit out the " bars " .

I guess I will just use a SVHS cable and copy Raw Footage that way (assuming the DVD recorder will not stop when it detects gaps). Thank you all except for kabanero.
