  1. I had some files that are windows media video V7 and V8 codec and the audio codec are window media audio 9 (execpt for one which is video V7 and the audio is V8). They are all asf 1. Some are (320x 240) (360 x 240)and (480x360) with varing frame rates starting at 8.903 going up to 10.178. I want to convert them all to dvd. My convert will convert them to mpeg2 or mpeg2 NTSC.Will they convert sucessfully with all the varying frame rates? different video and audio codecs? Will either one of these mpeg2 formats be ok to convert to so that i can burn to a dvd disc and play them on my stand alone dvd player? This sutff is so confusing. I thank in advance all those who are able to help and thank you again for your patience.

Although 8 and 10 fps is far too low for descent playback on TV, they can be done.

The low resolution files (320x240) should be made 352x240 (288 for PAL).

Out of all the relevant tools I tried, I am sticking to Tmpgenc PLUS for any such conversions. Tmpgenc will open the wmv files and does a very good job in interpolating frame rates, even with variable frame rate files as most windows media files are.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  3. So if I understand you correctly none of the other stuff matters. In my converter (#1 video converter) just change the frame rate to 352x240? Will that be ok to burn in dvd format?

    Hello,

352x240 is the screen resolution - not the frame rate
