With the DVD drives u have, even if their region select counter is not disabled, u can use DVDDecrypter as many times as u like to decrypt/transfer a DVD's content onto your HDD. If a certain DVD doesn't match the drive's current region setting, DVDDecrypter will say so and present a choice of either setting the drive's region counter correctly (don't) or leaving it alone & going on anyway using the brute force cracking method (which it says will slow things down). The drive's region select counter is not changed/touched when DVDDecrypter is going through its motions. I have not detected that decrypting/transferring slowed down using brute force instead of the usual I/O key exchange method. Sometimes decrypting stops and says the key can't be found; a key from a previously successfully decrypted VTS, as i find, is always successful.
The firmware changes in the sites Baldrick has mentioned have had varying degrees of success 4 me (more on the positive though) but if ur a novice in this the potential for errors that can leave ur drive like a dead duck in the water is great. 4 u then, w/o touching the drive firmware, DVDDecryptng the DVD then watching it from the HDD is best.
For the nth time, with the possible exception of certain Intel processors, I don't have/ever owned anything whose name starts with "i".

I think it just means that yoou can make changes to the region code 4 more times. Not that you can only use it four more times. Again as said previously, just use DVDdecrypter, anydvd and or DVDShrink AnyDVD enables ALL your drives as region free as long as it running in the background
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
