  1. hi guys
I dont know what is the reason or how to fix it but i am authoring some stuff with dvd maestro.

PROBLEM: subtitle will show off if there is a chapter point in middle of subtitle showtime duration and some of the dvd subtitle will hide earlier than it is suppose to.

any idea how to fix it ? I am using version 2.9

    thanks

It is not possible to have subtitles bridging across chapter points just shift your chapter point and you should be OK.

  3. that was a good tip, but is it really out of dvd standard? I dont really understand what exactly chapter point has to do with subtitle timing? because I believe the original dvd is working fine with having subtitle bridging chapter points

    thanks

Here's what I know and someone please correct me if Im wrong, a VTS is made up of a of a collection movies which is then broken down further to Title and program chains(PGC's)and further down to cells and VOBU's. What Maestro does is hides the DVD structure all together (unlike Scenarist which allows you to manipulate all of the DVD structure)so when you actually insert a chapter in Maestro it breaks it into another cell. The DVD spec does not allow subtitles to bridge across cells which is where you are getting your problem.

    Hope this helps...

Crusty is correct. Chapters are "stand-alone" video segments, and neither give nor take from other chapters. Just do what he suggested and shift the chapter point between subtitle exit-entry points. Quite easy to do in Maestro from the timeline.

Or do what I do, and leave the chapter point alone, but make a duplicate title that starts at the chapter point. You'll have a momentary "flicker" while the title "refreshes", otherwise it's always there.
