phone calls from a pc

anyone tell me a a programme (free) that lets you make phone calls from your PC? i have broadband and headset & microphone. I know they are out there but not sure where to look.

I believe MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger allows this feature, though the person you are calling must be using the same service and be logged on at the time of calling.

You can make Skype --> Skype calls for free, and call any landline for a modest charge. I doubt you will find a package allowing you to call a landline for free.

You used to be able to use Netmeeting that comes with Windows for this feature. It's free and pretty clear. It's used for Tele-conferencing.
