  1. I purchased it yesterday from Sears for $121.97.

Any advice on how to get the most from the RDR-GX7 ?

I had one; no problems until the hard drive crashed, which a technician told me they don't make anymore, so I had to exchange it for a lower-priced recorder since the local Sears didn't have anything equivalent to the RDR-GX7.

It's a good machine, except for, in my case, the hard drive. The thing I miss most about it is Syncro Record, which sees your satellite receiver come on/off and will record when the receiver comes on, and stop recording when the satellite receiver goes off. Saves you from having to set two timers -- one on the recorder and one on the satellite receiver.

Sadly, the latest Sonys don't have Syncro record, even on my HX-900.

Enjoy your machine while it lasts.

    The RDR-GX7 doesn't have a hard drive.
