I have seen the program acid: A program that will allow you to make royality free music to put in the homemade videos.
I would appreciate what apps are out there for linux, or even a website that has royality free music. Also if it is linux app what setup do I need. If if can run off a live cd etc..
Thanks

Audacity is a win and linux app that allows you to edit audio recordings, is this what you're looking for? If it doesn't already come with Knoppix you can use the klik application to install and run it completely off the live-cd. Also you might try dyne-bolic linux, which is a media-based live-cd

I am looking to create music not edit. There is a program called acid by Sony that lets you create music. You can add drums, reverb etc. I don't want to buy a windows program.

You might try rosegarden. I used to use acid alot (the program), and this looks very similar to it.
