I have a jvc xv-s300 and it will play almost anything i throw at it but when it plays it, the audio does not play in surround sound speakers. If i put the same media in a different player it plays fine.
    Any suggestions

Could you be more specific about what you have that is not playing in surround mode? For example, VCD doesn't support any kind of surround mode and if you think you are making a surround sound VCD, your player is behaving normally by not playing it in surround mode.

    DVD's
dvd-r using dvd shrink. it plays in surround sound in every other dvd player but this one. I use fujifilm prodisc s03, and prodisc fo1. the dvd players plays original dvds in surround sound, so it is not just a setting error.

    Thanks
