How do you decide to trust an etailer?

I really looked for the best place to post this but none of the forums mentioned it so Mods I hope this is ok here. If not, please move or let me know.
It's not media but related so I wasnt sure about the media forum.

Q: How do you find out if an online seller is a good place to do business? Anyone?
For instance I found a media rack I've been looking for at both "Racks and Stands/com " and "Stands and Mount/com"

Being the price is equal I would like to do business with a trusted site.
So any help on how to find out or personal experience would be appreciated.

i ask friends if they've ever used them
also, i check them out on www.resellerratings.com

If they have a professional website i just buy.

If they turn out to be crap i don't buy again.

Worked for me so far!

flaninacupboard...cant afford to spend several hundred dollars and hope for the best. Know what I mean.
canadateck...I've heard about that and know sellers dont like it. I'll have to talk to a banker friend and see what the process is. Curious...
pbhalerao...good info on the BBB. I should have thought about that and will look.
One of the above sites carries a great name. The other really sucks. So you can see how much you guys have helped.
