I am editing out some junk scenes in virtualbub, and when it comes time to save the file there are too many choices of codecs for my brain to handle. Should i save the file uncompressed, or choose a codec? which is the best to use if i want to continue to edit the file? do i save the finished to mpeg1 for later vcd making?
thanks for replying--i won't have time to look stupid for another week

uncompressed is going to be the best quality, but it makes a HUGE file size. I use HUFFYUV codec, (save as AVI) it seems to be the same quality and much smaller file size.

I Use TMPGEnc to encode the finished avi to mpeg1.
